New Legislation

The table below shows all legislation newly published to the SLD website over the last seven days, most recently published first.

Newly enacted legislation is loaded onto the SLD website as soon as is reasonably practicable following publication by The Stationery Office. However, because we carry out certain editorial processes to add value to the legislation and we also analyse and tabulate the effects of it on other legislation (see 'How we Edit Legislation' in Help), it will usually take from two to four weeks following enactment for new legislation to appear. In a few cases, such as where an Act is very large, it may take a little longer. The message ‘Primary Legislation Latest’ on the Home page gives details of progress in loading recent legislation. Newly enacted legislation not yet appearing on SLD can be accessed on the website of the Office of Public Sector Information.

For the time being, the content of this table will consist partly of new legislation and partly of legislation from earlier years. The few items of primary legislation outstanding from 2001 and earlier that are listed in Update Status of Legislation will be loaded as soon as they become available. In addition to these, the ‘back catalogue’ of secondary legislation held from 1991 to 2001 is being loaded. Broadly, our approach to this is to start with the most recent and work backwards, but there will be gaps until the completion of the exercise, which we expect to be during the early part of 2007.
